Date and Time: Friday, February 23, 2024 10:30 am - 2:00 pm (half hour break for lunch)

Day 1 Workshop - I can spin a single and make a 2 ply. What comes next? With Linda Raven Worsted, woolen, and everything in between. Join Linda to tune up your worsted spinning methods and enter the world of “woolen”. We'll fine tune these methods; look at different preparations and experiment to see what is best for a variety of fibres. We might even have time to revisit plying technique.This is the first day of two individual day Workshops that are being offered at the guild. Day 1 Workshop is for spinners with some experience who want to fine tune and/or expand their spinning skills. You can choose to sign up for one or both of these Workshops.

Instructor: Linda Raven is an accomplished instructor and spinner.  Her extensive experience as a spinner, weaver and knitter has provided her with hands-on knowledge of what makes a good yarn for use in spinning, weaving and knitting. Linda’s accomplished weaving can be found for sale at the Salish Sea Shop, Bowser.

Prerequisite: Must have some experience and know how to spin a single and make a 2 ply. Participants must bring to the Workshop a foot powered wheel with more than one speed (whorl).

Cost: QWSG Members: $60.00. Non-members $80.00 (for membership information please refer to Guild Membership below)

Material Fee: $20 Maximum 6 participants

Guild Membership: If you would like to join our guild, use Membership Signup to join then you can sign up for any Workshop at the member's rate once your membership payment has been received by our treasurer. Annual Membership is $60.00.
